IN PHOTOSHOP

1. Create two copies of the base layer.

2. Hide the base layer.

3. Use the Quick Selection Tool to isolate the subject from the background.

4. Hold Alt when clicking areas that you want to Subtract from the selections

5. Refine if you need by right-clicking and selecting feather.

6. Delete the subject from the second layer

7. Right click and Select Inverse. Then Delete to isolate subject

8. Go to background layer and Select the empty space

9. Go to the Menu and click on Edit, then Fill…

10. Change Content to Content Aware

11. Use Spot Healing Tool clean edges

12. Export background and subject layers as .PNG files

IN AFTER EFFECTS

1. Import .PNG files in a new Composition.

2. Sale the background layer slightly larger than the composition in order to animate movement.

3. Animate the subject and background to simulate a camera’s movement in 3D space.

4. Add other effects like Puppet animation to “sell” the FX.
